The Arizona Senior Center Association Board of Directors is made up of a group of committed, experienced individuals who have worked in the field of senior services in Arizona for a combined 100+ years. ASCA President - Patty Contreras

Patty Contreras has worked in the field of aging services for over 25 years. She is currently employed with the City of Phoenix Human Services Department, Community Services Division where she manages the senior nutrition program for 15 senior centers. She was previously the Senior Programs Supervisor at Devonshire Senior Center and a Recreation Coordinator for seniors at South Mountain Community Center.
Patty has had a variety of experiences working with seniors including special events and classes in Apache Junction Parks and Recreation, private and commercial recreation at Sunland Village and Greenfield Village, and in a therapeutic setting at Las Flores Nursing Center in Mesa. Patty has a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation from Arizona State University and a Master’s degree in Administration, emphasis in Leadership from Northern Arizona University.
Patty was elected to a second term as president of ASCA at the Annual Conference in July, 2011. She has been a member of the association since 2005 and was previously appointed as the secretary of the association in 2008.

ASCA Secretary - Norma Mancini

Norma Mancini has been helping organizations identify and define paths in aging services for the past 17 years. She enjoys the opportunity of helping organizations recognize and reconnect with their vision, increase individual confidence in capabilities, and streamline service provision to reach new professional goals. Norma’s energy and belief in positive change comes from a unique blend of life and professional experience, accepted professional practice, and fresh ideas to motivate and inspire organizational potential.
In addition to Norma’s team-based leadership style, various positions have allowed her to become associated with a wide variety of community-based committees, including Valley Metro Transit Committee, City of Surprise Benefits Committee, City of Surprise Non-Profit Funding Committee, and an initiating member of Neighbor Works, a coalition of the West Valley Homeowner Associations. Norma is also a Certified Public Manager.
Norma holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology and has helped develop organizational policies and developed and implemented annual budgets. Norma’s interest in psychology began in high school and over the years has evolved from research, to the clinical setting, to administrative development.

Genevieve Munoz currently works as a Senior Programs Supervisor II with the City of Phoenix Human Services Department/Community Services Division.
She currently manages the Deer Valley Senior Center located in north Phoenix. She has been a member of the Arizona Senior Center Association since 2003 and has been a board member since July 2010.
Prior to coming to the City of Phoenix, she worked in the area of substance abuse, focusing on the Native American population. She was born and raised in the Phoenix area and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Ottawa University in the area of Human Services.
ASCA Board Member - Jane Eck
Jane Eck is currently the Director at the Globe Senior Center for the City of Globe. She started in August 2010 and has enjoyed the challenge and new atmosphere. The Globe folks are welcoming; she has created an enhanced environment for activities and services, and strengthened volunteerism. Through increased outreach and community involvement, the Globe Senior Center is highlighted within the surrounding area. Prior to this, Jane was the Director at the Red Mountain Active Adult Center in Mesa for 12 years.
ASCA Board Member - Josie Salas
Josie Salas has been an ASCA board member for seven years. She is currently the Field Director for Foundation for Senior Living programs, a position she has held for five years. She has worked in social services for 29 years and has been the center manager of the Peoria Senior Center for 19 years.
Josie graduated from Glendale Community College and attended ASU West majoring in social work. Her hobbies are reading, bike riding and watching sports on TV. She especially loves to watch NFL games.
